The '07 Z is at the OC Auto Show. It would be really bad *** if someone could head out there and dig up as much info and pics as possible on the new model Z.

The HP is only going to increased to 306 HP's over the standard 300 HP's right now in the 06 models?

yeah but the G35 sendan did 0-60 in 5.2sec with that motor. The Z could be a sub 5 sec 0-60 with the extra revs. I think one of the biggest advantanges with the HR will be the ability to make power to 7,500rpm.

 

Event Data Recorder...is that the device that'd log your RPM, speed, etc so that the dealership can look at how you drove and say "you drove too hard, thus we are voiding your warranty"?

 

I thought the 07 stock Z's were gunna kill mustangs... i guess not.

 

I sure as heck don't want a Event Data Recorder....is this new for the 07's???? If so, damn am I glad I bought a 06. I don't constantly redline it and have nothing to worry about, but at the same time, I don't want to give the company any ammunition to deny my warranty claims because I pushed it to 7,000 rpms back in May 06. Sounds like crap to me.

 

I'm very interested what the Solar Orange is going to look like. I wonder if it's going to be close the the Lambo Orange.

 

the 300hp engines were really 293hp. the new engines are significantly more powerful. in addition, the internals are all new and more powerful/refined.

the EDR sounds suspicious though... hmmm...

in any case id love to see pics..

 

I'd guess so. I worked at a dealer this summer and voided this kids warranty on his Elise because he had 20+ 0-60 pulls in a row.

 

I'll stick with my '05

 

all we need now is a mod to wipe the memory of the EDR...

 

yeah the 306hp is with the new SAE ratings dropped hp on most engines by about 10hp. Performance figure will really show the difference. It's not enough to want to trade my 03 for a 07.

 

I just want a key entry on the hatch and redesigned hatch shocks that don't vibrate b/c if the cup/ball design. Can I get that?

if anyone see the pix of the new G Sedan engine bay in Motor Trend.. The motor is call VQ35HR with dual throttle body... Redline is at 7600rpm...
