I put Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 typical 275/40/18 on my new 18x10 rears, and i couldn't believe how tall the sidewall is compared to other companies' 275/40/18! Almost 4x4 status lol
You can see the pics here:

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.p...=1#post4826144

What's the best size for me to get to lower the sidewall height for great looking stance?

I thought about doing 285/35 but they don't make PS2's in 285s..I don't wanna downsize to 275/35 either.
Would going with 295/35 have shorter sidewall than my current setup? Is 295/30 an option?
Keep in mind that the car will be lowered more and my rim is 10" in width.

Damn I wish Ben was here to help me out.

Hey Kev the wider the tire the lower you are going to go on the sidewall. A 275-35-18 would be ideal. A 295-35-18 would have about the same wall thickness as your 275. Generally these would all be equal - 275/40, 285/35 and 295/30. It The side will get a little smaller but with that offset of a +15 and a 18x10 would rub and would need to be shaved a lot.

Hey yea I just did tire calculator and 295/35 would give me pretty much same sidewall height like you said.
295/30 damn that's kinda pushing it on 10" wheels.

So is my best bet 275/35? Wouldn't that stretch the tire a bit more though?

Bryan you're my life saver. How bout I buy you lunch today so we can discuss this more lol

lol. Sounds good. But that really wouldn't be stretching the tire much. I had 275/35/18 on my 9.5's and had a lot of lip protection. On a 10 they might not have that much protection but looking at your wheels it looks like the spoke would be the first thing to hit. A 275/35 would be perfect though. But yea with my +22 in my rear even a 295 would rub. You could run some neg camber in the rear but that would be pointless for track and daily driving.

Toyo Proxes T1R's: UTQG 280 (Treadwear) AA A

285/30ZR-18
285/35ZR-18
285/40ZR-18
295/35ZR-18

A 295/35 will give you a slightly shorter sidewall by about half an inc. Of course this is dependent on the tire manufacturer since each individual tire maker has their own set of measuring standards, also the construction of tire itself plays a key role.
For example; my Proxes R888 race tires are 255/40ZR-17 but in reality it measures up closer to a 265 because of it's aggressive casing and sidewall. Most street tires are not this way, they actually measure up closer to what it is stated.

Usually a 40 series will look tall so If I were you i'd go with a 285/30 or a 295/35.

Hey thanks! I've noticed that Michelin PS2s have TALL *** sidewall compared to others, and that's what threw me off in confusion.
285 isn't an option because PS2s don't come in that size. Looks like 295/35 will give me only marginally shorter sidewall.
