as i've mentioned about a jillion times, my stock suspension is lower than most others' stock suspension. i've had it checked out and everything looks fine, it just.. i guess.. settled lower. so an additional drop like the ones gf210's would give it [1" front, 1.2" back] might be ok for people coming from a regular stock setup but it'll be more slammed for me.

Well if you get the GF210 it'll replace your stock suspension(which supposedly settled lower) anyway therefore be irrelevent.
GF210 drop is like bus height anyway. Slammed look FTW.

I'm sure it will look good with the stock suspension, but once you change out the stock springs, you should be on an even playing ground (as far as ride height) with everyone else. The GF210s or whatever else should then give an equal to drop as to Dannys or whoever else has the Tanabes.

You seem pretty set on leaving it stock, but if you're considering a drop at all, you could get something mild like hotchkis or maybe some eibachs. Tanabes have a pretty aggressive drop as is.

Yeah, pretty much said the same thing as Gsazabi, but the GF210s are pretty low for me. Though with that type of drop, I'd go with the Swift Spec-Rs.

1" drop isn't all that aggressive. You might need to get camber arms in the rear though since it's 1.2" drop.
I plan to lower another 1.5" front and back when I get coilovers, so total 2.5" front and 2.7" rear.

I have about 20K miles on em BTW.

1" isn't that low, but Tanabes tend to settle a bit lower than 1" over time. The Swift Spec-Rs offer a similar drop and are guaranteed not to settle/lower over time. $50 for tanabes is hard to beat though.

Again, if you have a stock bumper, there's really not much to worry about. Biggest thing to worry about when lowering is scraping the front bumper/lip, and with stock you should be fine.

If you get the Tanabes for $50 from Gsazabi. Have them installed for less than $100, then go get the $20 alignment from Westco....should be pretty cost efficient.

Haha $20 alignment special ends soon! I won't be able to get coilovers that soon haha.

i don't get it... why would i need camber arms? i'm not sure i understand why a drop necessitates camber adjustment. guess i've got more research to do

Any drop more than 1" will mess up your camber spec, therefore the need for camber arms.
Basically, the lower your car gets, the more negative camber you get. Camber arms will help lowered vehicles bring the settings back to stock camber.
Camber arms with coilovers is a must.

Springs should be able to easily outlast the life of the car. Even with 20K they should be fine. Nothing like buying new though....

When you lower the car, the camber becomes more negative and out of spec. If you're not familiar with camber, basically the tires will be angled so that the inside of the tire wears faster than the rest of the tire. This is actually best for handling, but you'll have to buy tires sooner.

With an alignment, some Zs are able to get back into spec, while others are not, even with the same drop/springs. I believe some people on the forums mentioned that they were able to get back into spec with GF210s. If camber is off, you'll need camber arms to get them back into spec. SPC/Eibach is a popular choice. http://z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?model...ng&prodid=2890

To give you an example of tire wear, I had the Swift Spec Rs and didn't correct the camber. At 15K miles, the inside of my rear tires were bald. With stock camber, I probably would have been able to get another 3-5K out of them.

Gsazabi, what zeals are getting, and if you don't mind, how much are you getting them for?

If they're upwards of $3K, I'd much rather have the Ohlins or some Truechoice coilovers if you can source them.

you guys dont read anything lol......i said already i know what camber is and what camber arms do and yes i know why it's necessary to correct them. i'm just thinking about the physics of it, like why the weight of the car being lower on the wheels/tires creates neg camber.

nevermind......thx for the advice guys. i should sleep.

Ohlins RULE! Too bad I don't have enough money for them haha.

I'm getting Zeal Function Xs for $2,000.
