+1. Yep $500. Great tuner I haven't had a single issue with mine and I drive like an idiot a lot. It was tuned about a year ago.
LOL. I don't have a VQ anymore but I've contacted him with my specs and overall goal. I was thinking of hitting up Garage Bosso but I'll have a better idea when I'm in LA again.
Anybody know if they tune the HR? I heard Technosquare closed its doors (not sure how true tha is) and not sure where to go in California to get a tune.

I used to go to Shawn's place a lot more around 2005-2006. He's a really cool guy and when he ran my car for a dyne day and some tests for EA sports, he told me that the base tune that Technosquare had set up for me was pretty spot on. He said that he could squeeze out a few more HP up top since TS was a bit more conservative up top since I was tracking the car at the time. I decided to keep the TS tune and not spend $100 or so extra for a few more HP.
Rickdogg, you've been going to Church since 2005? I suppose they have a good longevity if they've been around for a while.

I don't know about NorCal but there's a lot of tuners on the south-side. BTW, anyone that can tune a Z can more than likely tune a DE and HR... and maybe even a VR38.

I use to think the same thing. Local shop here in San Jose has some nice numbers on DE tunes but when they did the HR, they bombed. I never looked back to see if they ever got it right and my mind was set on Technosquare. I wish I would have done it sooner.
yea they tune hr's mine did 338hp with 285 tq there felt the difference
Their dyno reads notoriously high from what I've always seen on posts. They'd have a ton more business if they were making 20-30whp more than other tuners.

Good choice

Church has a Dynapak, right? Their's must be special cuz Dynapaks are known for lower. Dynapak dynos basically attach right up to the hub as opposed to rollers.
Church's has a great group of VQ tuners, I think they have tuned a couple of winning SCCA/NASA VQ cars, they know their way around the platform.
I originally had Technosquare in mind but ended up waiting too long. I think that was a stroke of good luck, because that would have meant I would have needed to pay two software fees when a retune was needed.
And yes... their dynos read way high, +25'ish so don't look at the numbers as a direct reflection of other dynos.

Shawn is great at tuning but his dyno is a bit too happy, especially since it's a dyno pak. Subtract 5% compared to a dynojet, but still people say it's a bit too friendly with the numbers.
The tuning abilities of churches is very good though. They tune all types of systems.
