so where u guys planning to do the canyon run after the meet.....i need directions in case i get left behind like a lost puppy

 

i dunno... a couple of us were discussing possible routes but no one really confirmed anything. i guess we're gonna figure it out over there. i've got map of angeles crest/san gabriel mtns, we can highlight the route and xerox it for people.

 

sounds good! u can give out your direction for the routes now so we all have a better idea before sunday comes around

 

but...it's not my route to give out. i know the western side of the mtn better than the eastern... i havent been up GMR in a few months. anyone wanna chime in here with some suggestions?
the original route that hfm kind of threw out 1-didnt make too much sense and 2- would have been REALLY long.

 

just come up with a simple one that's close by.....i'm sure ppl who wants to go to the canyons will follow. since op is no where to be found, ur in charge now!

i dont know man, last time i was up there it was 1 in the morning, freezing, and the road conditions were terrible. and last i heard some areas were closed from rains and slides and whatever... maybe if i have some time on saturday i'll go scout some roads.

anyone wanna come?

 

thing is i dont know that side of the mountain very well at all......i know angeles crest, little tujunga canyon, soledad, big tujunga, upper big tujunga, etc.
i wish GMR/the 39 actually hooked up to the 2. map shows a 'north san gabriel canyon road' that links the two but if i'm not mistaken that's been closed for a while. easily i could be wrong though.

 

GMR is a bit small if half the people signed up are going to the cruise/run
