Simply put, street racing is fun. I think it's a cool way to compare cars, meet other enthusiasts and just maybe have a little fun during a boring drive home.

I much prefer canyon driving, but lining up with someone once in awhile is fine with me.

Please....you're preaching to the choir guy.

Hmm, a long straight road with no traffic ahead of you. A real danger to the public I guess.

Say you're following someone in the fast lane doing 80-100mph with slower traffic on the right. From time to time, you might even downshift to 3rd or 4th to pass some slower moving vehicles. During this overtaking maneuver, you might even make a quick spurt over a 100 or so.

Given that scenario, really how different or how much more dangerous is it when there's another car beside "racing" rather than behind you or in front of you.

What if you're on an empty street at night and you find yourself redlining 1st, 2nd or even 3rd. Where's the harm in that. So there happens to be another car beside you, it really doesn't change things much.

Do you really never push your car on the street? I doubt you can answer with a no, so you seem to be a bit of a hypocrite in this matter.

dont do it on a busy street. than it is just ur life. and also. does this mean u have never tried to stay in front of somebody off a light. u have never driven your sports car fast. never felt ur head pull back into ur seats. if u havent thats great. ur not a hipocrite. if u have SHUTUP

i did, but ive long since stopped that ****. I can actually remember every instance of driving my Z hard on the street in the last 2 years.
most recently was when I got my car tuned, and floored it till third just to see if i could feel. I am honestly way too lazy to downshift to pass someone, unless something unusual happens ahead i just stay in 6 and cruise at whatever seems like a good speed usually around 80, and I move out of the way when faster cars come behind me. i havent broken 100 on the freeway since my first week with the Z.
and no i dont try to stay in front of people at a light, and i laugh when the car next to me makes it a point to stay ahead of me.
if you guys only race till the speed limit ill shutup, but lets face it im sure you dont.

your talking to the wrong guy, I bought the Z to be a track car i could afford to daily drive, i get it all out every couple weeks.
i dont think ive raced another car on the street for 4 years, i wont say I havent done anything stupid, but i try not to, but I acknowledge its stupid and if someone gave me **** i wouldnt dissagree.
