There are FWD SR20DET's in Japan along with the RWD versions.

The FWD DET's were common in Bluebirds, and GTi-R's.

Since people seems to get confused here's what's what:

SR20DE Inline 4 FWD = Legal in the U.S. as they came equipped on US models.

SR20DET Inline 4 Turbo RWD = Illegal in the U.S.

SR20DET Inline 4 Turbo FWD = Also illegal in the U.S.

any pics of your friends g20? I've always liked that car. Wouldn't mind that as a project car VIP style.

dang I guess I am suck with the KA truck engine. Is it possible to mount the G20 SR20 for rwd application and add the rwd SR20 tranny?

Again VG3.3 sc any good of an engine? Or is the VG30(non turbo) a better one.

no different bolt pattern on the bell housing i use to have a s13 with sr20det but sold it cause it was to much of a hassel to smog every year so i sold it if u want to put a sr20det just be sure to have a smog hook up and a quite exhaust so cops dont pull u over for it my buddie got popped for having a sr20det but they just gave him 800 dollar fine which i found odd cause your suppose to go to the ref

VQ vs KA, thats like comparing apples and oranges. But i'm saying this with all respect, I think you may be looking too much into it and it's complicating things. Keep your car endeavors simple because in all honesty they wont be. Take some time and browse the forums and educate yourself a bit more on what works and what doesnt, what's finacially feasible, and what's just plain retarded. However, if you've got the money, the time and dedication you can do whatever you'd like to any car.

Uh...like I said, the owner of the car seems happy....if he's the owner of the shop or the car, either way you can tell the car runs fine and looks great....I just don't want to make it a statement because I only saw the car running fine I cant vouch for the shop because I dont know the quality.
