Wait a second. Something doesn't sound right... took a salesman along on a test drive and raced a WRX from a stop?

Didn't know dealerships are offering test drives that include drag racing.

Smells like ********.

What are you talking about man I own both cars. what I was refering to when I said I'd beat the wrx 49 3/4 mile out of 50 was refering to the WRX inability to reach speed much over 135 and maintain them. Hense once the race get over 100+ mph the Z will dominate.

Besides Drew my **** is far larger then yours.

Congratulations!

I love it when I read posts from people with IQ's less than 62 and you certainly more than qualify.

I thought there was a forum for people like you with aesthetically challenged vehicles - please proceed there quietly and never return here.

We are all tired of listening to nonsense from bantering idiots.

I used to like the look, but I think it's a bit overdone... tries too hard... looks like it's supposed to transform or something... IMHO.

Hmm, would you say more along the lines of a autobot or a decepticon?

ya, its cool for a Kid.

actually I hate them with the stock wheels, when some guys put nice wheels on them and do it right, they look pretty good, I respect the WRX, but over 100 the Z will walk (stock for stock).

From a roll, stock for stock, a Z profusely pulls away from the WRX. I've tested this many times. Exhaust and pulley isn't good enough to change the outcome from a roll, it wasn't even close.

From a stop, the WRX has AWD and its VERY close, could go either way -- really matters if he nails the launch or bogs.

This is Drews_WRX:

Exhaust and pulleys isnt enough to change that...........hum....i will drive to northridge just to see it be VERY close from a stop.

PS- get all your 350Z friends so they can witness. Heck, we will even go from a roll.....

later
Drew

WRXs have a squishy top end because the stock turbo is so small, it'll fit in a coffee can. The gearing is kinda crappy too and with no mods, the WRX lags below 3000rpm like a ****. It explains why WRXs rarely win from a roll.
You probably thought the 350Z is slow because of the way the motor pulls. Without a downpipe that has a wastegate flange, the WRX's power comes on very suddenly and drops off sharply near redline. The VQ just pulls evenly.
You also have to remember that the VQ has drive-by-wire and the throttle response may be something you're not familiar with. Someone pointed out that the VQ dosen't feel particularly fast unless you're driving the **** out of it.

And don't expect an M3 either. I didn't find the WRX or the G35C (well, close enough to the 350Z!) "fast." If you want to feel like you're going fast, swing by a BMW dealership and test drive a tiptronic 325i. It has torque from idle to redline and -feels- faster than the WRX and G35c.

not sure I agree, my dad had a M3 E36, with Dinan Headers, Intake, chip, exhaust and head work done, I think the engine feels very similar to the Z (but the Z has much less body roll), out of all the cars he had/has (300Zx tt w/ jim wolf kit, NSX, M3, CLK55, 911s, SL500, CLK430, etc...) the M engine feels very similar, a very flat torque curve.

I am NOT sure a 325 Tip would have more torque than my Z
