) Honestly the CIS department rocks for the most part as long as you're not taking telecommunications. Their department of sciences sucks though.

Another negative about Cal Poly is its mostly a commuter school by local students, so the dorm life blows. You're better off in USC if you want to dorm it and have fun.

^true. but i plan on pursuing my MBA. i wanna go to sc for grad school. i think that'll benefit more in the long run.....to go to a public school for undergrad then sc grad school rather than sc undergrad and some public school for grad school

went to cal poly, CIS major. Came out and did a lot better than some USC people in know. But this all depends on major, and how determined you are. If you care about money when you get out, dont go into marketing (haha)
USC is a good school, but in the end its more about you

Got my MBA from SC in 1991.
World class biz school.
And don't underestimate the advantage of being able to root for L.A.'s only professional football franchise, the USC Trojans
If you can afford it, go for it!

yea im in a predicament. im going to get about 1/3 of the tuition from financial aid so im looking at about 25 grand times 2 so 50 grand in loans on tuition alone. i know that chump change in the long run but still im a bit hesitant. my parents offered to help me out but as successful as they are they are getting older both own private business so there is no retirement benefits. id rather go through college on my own. i'll learn to appreciate it more and probably work harder so i dont waste my own money. same thing wit my Z =D
