Motorist Exiting Vehicle Struck and Killed on 110 Fwy
LOS ANGELES, Apr. 15, 2007 - (CNS) - A motorist who got out of his vehicle after an accident on the Harbor (110) Freeway early Sunday was fatally struck by another driver, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident on the northbound side -- along an elevated section of carpool lane -- occurred about 3:30 a.m., and the victim, who was struck by a black Nissan 350Z, landed in a southbound lane, where he was struck by several other vehicles, according to a CHP statement. The victim was identified as a 30-year-old La Puente man, but his name was withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
110 always seems to have nasty accidents early Sunday mornings especially near Torrance. I hope the driver is ok...I'm sure they're shaken up quite a bit.
Sad but I don't think the Z driver would be in any trouble. I've heard of this happening before. I see people changing flats on the side of the FWY and I cringe.
damn thats crazy...i drive on the 110 everyday to/from work/school everyday and i have noticed one interchange that has a really bad blind corner...almost hit a stopped car once and almost ran into an abandoned couch because the visibility was so lame...ive had to get outta my car three times on the freeway cuz of car troubles n everytime i would just pray to God that no1 hit me...R.I.P. for the guy n my condolences to his family and the guy who hit him...
