Default Question for dealers

I noticed that there was a recall for the 2005 Z's that dealt with the grease lines that would appear on the passenger window. I took my car to the dealer where I purchased it to get the window taken care of. They told me that they could fix it but that they would most likely thrash my tint in the process and were not libel for damages.

Is this the case at all dealerships (inability to do the job without damaging tint), or was this one just particularly inept?

The job can be done without scratching the tint. However, no matter how careful they are, it can get scratched in the process. They are just trying to cover themselves in case something happens.
