That was me heading home to Palm Desert. Two cars in front of me got into some type of side swipe accident and the tundra involved then cut in front of me within 5 feet and I hit his rear end cuz I was going faster than him or he braked or both. It happened so fast I couldn't tell. In fact my car slid under his bumper, about half way into the engine compartment. The car still ran enough to drive it off to the side of the road but the radiator was leaking.

The back two ends of the hood pierced the windshield shattering it and ended up folded in half. Neither I, my wife or dog were injured, except for a couple minor aches. I think the car did pretty good in the crash. Both bags went off and did exactly what they are supposed to do.

Two minutes before the accident I was thinking about getting a Plenum and now I don't know when I'll even have that or another car (if it's totalled).

On top of that, After getting back to my in-laws (5 minutes away), the back door slams closed cuz of the wind and shatters the window in the door. All in all, kind of a crappy day...but at least we weren't hurt. I'll post a picture tommorrow.

Man, don't be a vulture. The guy just survived an accident. Parting out his car would be the least of his worries.

ssawa - It's good news that you & your wife are OK. Let's hope the insurance doesn't give you any headaches.

Insurance? I always hear these stories and the first thing I think after "I hope the occupants were okay" is "I hope State Farm [or other insurance] is picking up the tab." Although in some cases, clearly not this one, I think the insurance ought to have a "you're an idiot, we're not buying you anything faster than a Camry, exception." Like the guy that flipped his Z going "20 mph."
