i was gonna take pics but of course, this happens the one day i leave my cam at home...i have a great view from our offices in the sunset media tower. looked scary as hell right when the fire got bad, mad smoke ranging in colors from white to black to reddish brown billowing up above the black domes of the observatory

Woah. the fires last year in FL (which BTW was ridiculous!) they evacuated everyone pretty much a mile ahead of where I lived. I guess we got lucky and didnt get evacuated but it burnt up a lot of the area. I dont think anyone was killed but I know a few houses were destroyed.

there was a fire yesterday along the 91 west. the 241 south toll entrance was blocked as well as green something street. wasnt as big as the griffith park fire, but still pretty big

as i passed the 241 entrance, i saw the flames. there were helicopters with those water buckets everywhere as well as a couple of those planes (i think they were smaller though).

flames seem to be lessening but they could just be going the other way [i'm on sunset and argyle]...lots of helicopters still and the wind seems to be picking up, bad news..
