i was driving on the 10 doing about 80 and my car seemed like it died for a min and came right back on.. i didnt think much about it. well i got home and, im on my way some where else and i get to the stop sign and my car dies and wont start it just seemed like it wouldnt kick over... tryed a few times and then let sit for a min or so and it started. drove a few blocks and it did the same thing again. and now when i drive and turn my vdc off my car will be fine for a little but it will act like it dies and again and the slip light come on and stays on while the vdc button is still off and it wont let me turn it on or off after that.. and my car is having starting problems now.. no ideal what it could be!
anyone have a clue please let me know.

 

Whoa. How does your air filter look? There was somebody who's intake was loose and the MAF freaked out over it in an odd fashion. I dunno...but it might be worth checking.

yeah i thought it could be that.. but the light will be on where it says vdc off and then the slip light comes on and stays and it wont let my turn the light off or on for the vdc they both stay on its weird.. and then my car seems like it does what it wants it will start with no problems sometimes and other times seems like it just doesnt want to kick over.. it just started doing this on the drive home from plam springs back to newport beach... i just had my oil changed 200miles ago could u think they could of done something then?

 

If that's the last thing that has changed with your car then it's worth checking into. How is your oil level?

And when you say it doesn't want to turn over...do all of your lights and things work...but the car just won't start?

 

yeah ever thing comes on but doesnt seem like it wants to spark and kick over its only going through half the motions it seems like

 

oil levels fine filled with royal purple just a couple of days ago.. but good- year did it

 

I think all the lights come on like that when the car is in limp mode. Is it throwing a cel?

alternator sounds like its getting power.. im not sure..i wanna take it in but dont have that kinda cash right now.. im at 76,000 miles little over i had it tuned up at 70,000 could it maybe be a spark plug.. they say u dont have to change those til 100,000 but how would i check or how would i know if it was one of those?

 

i had this happen in a spec-v, always could start it but it would just die all of a sudden while driving and then kick right back on. there are oil seperating sensors inside the engine. the there r usually 2, maybe even 3. depends on the engine. grab a credit card and head over to wcn. or just call and talk to jeff or justin, or just about anybody. they might be able to tell u whats wrong. also check all ur spark wires, make sure theyre snug. gl
