immobilizer code in the ecu is key'd specifically to your key. so they really can't hot wire it-- unless they have your duplicate key with the chip in it.
I dont know the full specifics on how to program a key, but with technology I assume it would now be possible to program a new key with a hand held device. If so, anyone working or knowing someone in a dealership sould have access to key codes. With a VIN, they make a copy of your door (not setting off the alarm) and once in they quickly program the key to the ecu. If we are talking 3:00 am, they had plenty of time to do this without being spotted.
wow.... now the insurance company wants to screw me!
What are they covering? I have been told by my insurance company (Mercury) that additional coverages only covers up to $2500, but here is the catch; if you have aftermarket pieces totaling $2501+ none is covered.
<--Calling his insurance company for update on policy!

wtf..how does that make sense?
damn money-grubbing insurance companies...
wow sorry to hear, I've been seeing more and more threads on stolen 350z here on this board, esp in so cal.
I got away from the Honda scene when I picked up the Z to get away from car theft. Oh well. its time to bring out the autoloc and the Club again.. two more keys to carry around on my key ring. damn you theives
I work as an insurance claims adjuster, as part of the insurance company most of the time mods have to have extra coverage to cover them (i.e. rims and stereos). But most of the insurance reps I know are pretty cool about it and if you have any receipts they will usually hook it up and cover it. Try to make friends with the adjuster who comes to visit you and if they are cool they might cover it all. But usually for the car itself you only get the fair market value for the car and for the parts you get a depreciated value.
what kind of reply is that... what are you trying to say???
If you follow Micheljr6's posts you can easily see that he is some racists brat white kid. Everyone may think his "RSX" crap is cute, but it really isn't.
