Question My Trunk?

This may seem a little bit funny and ... funny!
Does anybody know why they didn't provide a button in front to open the trunk?

your help is highly appreciated

Cuz there's no use since there's a button on your remote and while your doors are unlocked, you can access the trunk anytime you want.

there is a problem: when you are giving a ride to somebody and he/she wants to put his/her bag in the trunk, you have to turn the engine off and take the key out to be able to open the trunk with the remote!
does this happen to you to?

Sure does. And it can sometimes be difficult to explain to that person exactly where the hatch release is.

However, what aggravates me most is an individual who closes the hatch by pushing down on the exterior (I can't be the only one who gives a good pull on the interior hook). In my dusty climate, this has the tendency of leaving nasty fingerprint marks on the rear, visible to all.

You guys do know that when the car is unlocked, you can press the button above the license plate to pop the hatch, right? It's a rubberized rectangle type shape, just push it and it releases the hatch.

there are 3 releases:

1. the keyfob
2. like rob said, the rubber rectangle below the nissan logo in the back and above the license plate - just feel around, you'll find it (ok, there was something dirty in that)
3. somewhere along the strut bar, there is some cord you can pull down (i haven't bothered to try this yet)

and yes, hypersonic, i agree w/you about those damn fingerprints - i've been trying to teach hubby to close while pushing the nissan logo. i ALSO personally close pulling down on the inside metal hook (hubby claims he will slam his hands if he does that ).

Just don't let anyone else close your trunk.... that's what I do. Maybe it's just me but I don't like anyone else touching my car even to open the trunk. It's like those dang kick plates.... hate it when people would drag their feet across it to get into the car.... LOL.. sorry.. I'm just like that.
Luckily it didn't take long for my gf to figure all this out about the Z... hehe.. she even closes the door with her elbow on the door handle....... that one I didn't have to tell her... she just does it on her own...

I used to close the trunk by pulling the metal hook, and then let go of it when it was about to close........and then i stop doing it because IT HURTS after a couple times!!!! so now, i close the trunk by pulling the hook gentlely, and then closing it by touching the spoiler
