top off your oil... mark your dipstick, check your dipstick again in 1000-1500 miles.

If your car is burning too much oil and you can't wait, bring it in and we can see what we can do.

How can I find out if I am burning. I just got the car so I hadn't had much of a chance to check.

just take it to a dealship and ask for an oil consumption test. it's best to do it when you get an oil change. basically they change your oil, mark the dip stick, and you come back in 1000-1500 miles to see how much oil you burned.

FYI: i have the same problem with my Z. its keep burning oil and Glendale Nissan Said that it had something to do with the Pistions. which was correct, and on my situation, oil was leaking through the pistons and oil was getting burned!!

This was 4 thousand Miles ago and Nissan has already agreed to give me either the 07 350z engine or this new 08 engine that has supposed to come out a month later... stupid them they still havnt called me about it but now i have to Harass them on my sit.!!!!

but from what i heard they said something like the HR motor!?

hey Jeff, I've had my test done at a dealer near me and I'm not too happy with their services, kind of slow, anyways can I bring it up to you guys and if I do, do I have to do the test over again or will my records be on the "system?"

i want to see someone with the 06 oil consumption problem get a HR motor. i wanna see it first before believing that nissan is promising to drop an HR in it as the solution.

I highly doubt nissan would spend the money to put in an HR motor. It would cost 3 times the amount then to just put in a redesigned motor. I still need to check mine but the last I did it didn't look any lower.
