Default Z needs what to be > M3

What does a 350Z need to be as quick or a little faster than an M3 coupe? I know they're like 330 HP. I'm just curious. Now don't say Force induction, cause I'm sure there's a way to be by staying N/A. I still haven't raced one, so i have no idea how much slower I am than one.

Approximately, how much would a non-revup 350Z put down with these mods.

Minus the cams, don't they dyno roughly the same as a stock M3? The gears along with the flywheel/clutch combo would make a huge difference in a real world scenario though.

How's the new engine coming along?

BTW, isn't this a repost buddy https://my350z.com/forum/southern-california/216873-challenged-by-m3.html

You might now remember me, but I was the guy in the red M3 during the Angeles Crest drive awhile back. When you started that last thread, I recall you texting or calling me about how the car would do. Honestly, the M3 is a good deal faster, especially from a roll. Not sure how the gears would affect things, but I would still expect the M3 to have edge from roughly 80-100+. From a dig, it should be quite close with the Z possibly having edge until you reach the top of 3rd gear.

Just to quench your curiosity, just run one and get it out of the way. If you do it from a roll, you'll have a better chance if you start from a lower speed such as in 1st or 2nd gear.

On teh way to the track, i had one passenger, my friends laguna seca blue m3 had a total of 4 people, and not trying to be mean, they are all overweight. We took off from 60-130, i got beat a good 7-8 car lengths. i'm a good driver and so is he. He ran a best of 13.2 stock while i ran best a 13.8.

I would have said that you have me confused with someone else, but I've also been told that I have an identity disorder on here.

That was back in the day.

i didn't say you were lying, i'm just curious as to how many cars you've gone through. you came to a meet in a black slk, and in a silver z, and you've also posted about having a 545i i think. just curious.

do you really need that many mods? I didn't think that put down THAT much more power.

you could do it without the cams, but what fun is just barely being able to be as fast as it?
