they are kind of lame IMO. I thought they would be an asset to the community, but they are just show people. Not really performance enthusiasts. If you wanna build a hot pink Z with 40 LCD monitors and flashing lights they are the place to go.

I am not saying anything negative to be a poop, I am actually friends with the co-owners family.

Default High End Performance S.D. Branch

This shop originally started from Ventura. High End Performance is a shop that sells parts, they don't build "customers cars" except for their own cars and not unless your close to them personally, and like the name of the shop they only build High End cars such as 350z, Supra, NSX, S2000, Evo..... yah they are show cars, but this show cars put out some figures "horsepowerwise and moneywise".They build cars like this to help promote the shop and advertise it as well. Do your research first before saying something or thinking something that would offend the shop and the people that supports it. The cars you see sporting the shops name on their cars are the satisfied customers that gets their parts from them. And no they dont build Pink 350z's or such and not even civics or integras. If i were you go their and find out this friday about it. Ask for Robin he's a friend of mine and he owns the shop in S.D., tell him Angelo sent you. If not give me a call you still have my number. Go inside the lounge and you'll see the plaques and trophies, a proof that they mean business when it comes to their show cars. Check out their site as well http://www.highendperformance.net/:)

Wait, so having "show" parts is a bad thing now? So all those guys with Volk wheels are purchasing these rims because they are performance? And the people with bodykits are actualy performing better?
To each his own. If someone wants to build a show car, why put them down or say it ain't good enough? You got a sweet a$$ track car, then post pics and let them be.

i think what some of the other people were posting meant that yes they are good at what they do in regards to *show* but not the performance aspect.

i've never been there so i dont know.

my point was that its easy to get a car show trophy, where as in motorsports its extremely difficult and there are far less opportunities.

but i'm bored and sitting on the toilet so ill answer your other questions, Ive never knocked anyone for putting wheels on their car(unless they are knockoffs, like ssr, or rota) its the whole care show competition thing, whats the point of all those performance parts people buy for show cars, so it can sit there? it just seems so pointless, and thats why show cars are constantly being sold or redone, because people aren't enjoying them to their full potential and they get bored of it too fast.

and if you buy a legit bodykit like cwest its a wind tunnel tested kit so yeah its better for performance.

i'm biased when it comes to judging a shop. as everyone else stated, high end is about getting high end parts for your car. if you wanna be super jdm and ARC'd out, they can get you those parts.

As a performance enthusiast, it breaks my heart when i see an almost perfect replica of some of japan's finest machines at their shop that aren't being used on the track. but like someone else said here, to each his own. i'm sure the cars sold at the barret jackson auction aren't being daily driven and just locked up in a garage.

so the only way i can judge this shop is on the prices they can give me on parts. in that respect, i have not been impressed. a simple google search always yeilds a much lower price.

There is nothing wrong with a PINK Z!!..... Alright maybe there is? But anyway, HighEnd has some of the best show cars that I have ever seen, they are well rounded cars from custom paint, one off body kits or widebody, FI, BBK, Interior, Audio etc. Me and my bud NastyBoy have had this conversation plenty of times before how the Z community is real quick to bash on peoples cars if they don't have Volk or Work or any of the other products that everyone follows for the Z. I also don't agree that it is easy to win an award at a car show, way to much competition out there and the same applies to motorsports, to much competition. Some people might see it as why put all that money into the motor to track it if it's just going to be raced to death and beat up? Or what's the point in 500hp if you can't even use all that power on the streets? But it's like I always say to each his own, this world would be boring if we all had the same cars, banged the same chick, wore the same clothes, had the same mods etc.

please dude, did you just call the shop that copies cars in japan original?

you have no idea what your talking about, competing in any sort of motorsports (even at an amateur level) costs enough to build most award winning show cars several times over, and that doesn't mean you'll win anything just that you're competing.
remember that most show car's copy their innovations and appearance from motorsports...
sports cars weren't designed to sit and be looked at, they were designed to turn heads as they speed by...

I don't know why people are putting down show cars. I really don't like the widebody kitted cars but when the work is of good quality I give them respect and I apreciate the work on it, it doesn't mean that I like show cars. In one way or another, we all build a "show" car. They aren't that many of us here that take their car to the track. We mod our cars to look/perform better than the next one. In a way that is your way to showing you car. I bet that most of the cars they build can kick our a$$es on a track if they they get a good tune, if they haven't already. It takes a lot more money to build/upkeep a show car than a performance oriented street car. If you guys are so worry about performance why do you get the 19's rims (I'm not pointing out to no body just trying to make a point). Don't come and tell me that your 19" Volk GT series are light wieght rims. So give them a little bit of respect and appreciate the work that was put on their car, it wasn't easy or cheap.
