Exhaust help
Deciding either to get an Nismo exhaust or HKS Hi Power Catback Exhaust.
I know how the nismo exhuast sounds like but is there anyone here that has the HKS Hi Power Catback Exhaust? I really want to hear it in person. I am located in Alhambra (91801) my cell is 626-780-2507. Name is Steve btw. It would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I'm currently running the Greddy TT exhaust. Let me know if you wanna hear them. I'v actually had the HKS's already and hi tone, but aggressive, but I like the deeper sound from a Greddy.
Bump for Nismo, stock looking but sounds much more agressive than stock.

IMHO...
nismo - don't think it's worth the money. looks too much like stock, gains are horrible, and just a little louder than stock.
HKS - a lot of people like the looks of it, i personally don't. i think it looks a little too ricer for me. this exhaust is too flashy, therefore resulting in getting hassled by the cops. the gains are decent, from what i've heard. the sound is too deep for my taste.
not sure if you are completely sold on either one of these exhausts, but incase you're not...
i have a stillen exhaust. love everything about it. the look is great (not too flashy, but noticeably different from stock). the sound is perfect for my taste (not too loud, but when you step on it...it screams). and the gains were definitely noticeable.
i live in alhambra as well, if you want to take a listen to the stillen....let me know.

Don't bother spending your hard-earned (assumed) money on an aftermarket 'exhaust system'.
Just go to a reputeable muffler shop, have them make some custom made piping and then buy two seperate mufflers from magnaflow for a much cheaper price.
HKS exhausts are way too expensive for what they really are- pipes.
One of the stupidest decisions I ever made was paying $1,100 for a Greddy Evo II that did virtually nothing for my car in regards to performance.
Exhaust 'systems' in general are HUGE rip-offs.

mi 2cents,
I've heard the two and the Nismo was perfect for me because it was just a bit louder than stock under 3k rpms and rocked above 3k rpms without attracting every cop withing a 2 mile radius!

I have the HKS and I love the looks and the gains of the exhaust. It is a true dual system and also has extra resonators on top of the muffler to reduce rasp and give you a deeper tone. It's not that loud and I have not been hassled by cops once for exhaust. However, I am scared now, because I am running test pipes, and it is hella loud at WOT!
IMO the perfect combo is HKS Dual (Ti) Hi Power exhaust with Iso thermal plenum spacer. It gave it a deeper tone, and the gains with those two products were awesome!
