Default Trading in my car for a Z

Hey, I'm planning to get rid of my '99 BMW 328i sedan in order to get the 07 Z. I'm in a hurry and have no time to wait for buyers to come across, and was wondering if I should take it to CarMax or the dealership? At the moment, I only know of CarMax that does this kind of thing, so if anyone has any better suggestions, I'd really appreciate it! Oh, and how much are the 07 base going for right now around LA (San Gabriel Valley area preferred).

Thanks.

MSRP is $27,900. You shouldn't pay any more than that under the worst circumstances.

Kelly Blue Book says my car is worth around 9k for the trade-in value. Are dealers going to buy it off at that price?

Carmax will probably screw you too, they're a dealer like everyone else...try ebay! I sold a car in 4 days and made 3k more than what carmax was going to give me!

Your best bet even if you're in a rush to sell the Bimmer is to sell it privately. Just lower your asking price a bit so that you get more bites. Even discounted significantly you'll get more money than through a dealer or Carmax. People are cheap so if you're car is $2k less than someone elses, they'll want to take a look.

Hey XthejokerX,

Can I interest you in an 06 350Z Black convertible with 5000 miles and in mint condition? I am asking 29.5K but the price is negotiable. Why buy new? No need to deal with car dealerships. After ttl you will pay about 30 grand and thats just for the base coupe. Why not make it a base convertible enthusiast model and go to town with the savings to fix your ride up like you have always wanted.

I am in the West Covina Area. Would be happy to show you the car if you are interested. Here are the details of my ride:
