I hate being lied to
A couple of months i purchased a 350z from a forum member, Superhung. Here is a link to the ad that Superhung posted: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=268683
From the ad, he stated:
And now, thanks to my buddy Hardy, i find a thread he posted about him getting involved in an accident.
WTF?!? The car still looks clean and has no problems that i could find but that really sucks ***** man. Im gonna have a chat with this guy.
From the ad, he stated:
Car is super cared for. Clean title, no accidents, no games and no B.S.
Here's my post from another thread about what happened to me :
I was trying to get off the freeway very quickly and went over a raised portion of the conrete. I ended up hitting it on the right side at about 40mph, and went airborn just a little bit and landed, causing damage to the inner wheel lips on the left side of the car. Oddly enough, there was not a single scratch to the wheels on the right side where I hit first or to any of the tires.
To give you a better idea what the damage to the wheels look like, if you were to dismount the wheels off the car and flipped them face down on the ground, looking at the wheels, the edges of the wheel would be mangled and bent and not perfectly round, which caused the tires to lose air very quickly and rapidly. The tires itself are in perfect condition. The face side of the wheels have no damage at all and mounted on the Z, it looks like I just had a flat tire.

sort of like another member who is selling a car right now and listed all the exterior and interior mods...yet fails to mention the nitrous kit that he had on his car for a while and even had problems with.

well...it seems from his 'accident' that he just hit the wheels
perhaps when he made the representation to you that the car was without 'accidents' he probably meant accident = body damage to the car
in which case, he hasn't made a 'misrepresentation' per se..
however, that IS still not being very honest.

Why do you care? Two wheels were damaged and apparently replaced...
The man I bought my Z from, made a relatively major (yet no structurual damage) front end collision sound like the valet just scratched his lip on a curb...I didn't feel the need to chat with him when I found evidence of more extensive damage....Its the risk you take buying a used car.

so you wouldn't care if you purchased a 25k vehicle and not know what kind of damage it previously had? re-read his posts, he never mentioned that the damages were only to the wheels.
and suspension damage?
my beef is that this was that he lied.
what kind of idiot would NOT care. i only know of one now.

Eh, I'd let it slide. If he was that descriptive about what happened to the wheels, he would have stated if there was any other damage to the car. A couple bent and replaced rims do no = accident in my book. Acident = body damage and/or paint work. I'd wonder about the suspension, given the details given about what happened, but if it;s aligned and tracks stright, it's obvioulsy fine.

I also dont see this as an accident. The wheels were replaced. If any suspension parts were damaged, you would have noticed by now. I understand you spent 25k, but you are also buying USED. All dealerships fix used damaged cars and sell them as perfect "untouched" used cars. Carfax is worthless when an accident is not reported to DMV or insurance companies.
The best thing you can do is ask the original owner to explain in detail areas that may have been damaged and or replaced. Harrassing the original owner will not get you anything more than what you already have. Remember; Private party sales are "as is" and all sales are final! Its up to the buyer to ask any and all questions. Untouched subjects are not lies.
