Totaling my old mr2
Anyone knows any expensive body shop in SD area?
My old 93' MR2 got rear-end 2 weeks ago on the day that damn I-5 closed. The damage is moderate but I want it to be totaled instead of fixing it. Do you guys think getting an estimate from an expensive body shop will help the chance of totaling the car? Thanks for any comments in advance.

Insurance will place a repair cost value on the damage.
You can take the check, or get it repaired, and sell the car (to me if you like) and you will "cash out" all the same.
Finding an "expensive shop" won't get it totaled.

ya know what else you can do it just ram the rear end in to something demolition derby style and mess it up some more til its guaranteed to be totaled. But then again, i know some people that might be looking into a mr2 as a project car.
