don't waste your money on test pipes until you are able to run an aftermarket exhaust. just my opinion.....

CAPS is screaming. They think you are angry. haha. I have test pipes and a nismo y-pipe on mine. Its not bad. Didn't notice much of a diff compared to when I had the nismo exhaust and Crawford cats.

test pipes are a great addition for sound, If you're lucky you won't get any rasp. Rasp should be minimal on stock exhaust but will definately increase when you add a catback with a y-pipe.

What brand did you get btw and are they resonated or non-resonated?

For your check engine light all you need are spark plug non foulers (come in packs of 2 and you will need 2 packs - 2 for each spark plug) Just have to unscrew the o2 sensor, screw 2 non foulers together and then into the y-pipe and the o2 sensor into the non fouler. It basically puts the o2 sensor out about an inch from the actual airflow of the y-pipe and will allow the light to stay off.

it kills your torque, don't do it.

I ended up taking mine off and getting Nismo exhaust and headers. a BIG difference

very true. But hey... you have stock cats in between headers and a y-pipe back??? Doesn't that give you the bottleneck effect?

LoL...

Seriously, who cares about his CAPS or anything else. This ain't school or a job related issue for that matter. That's why people think most 350z members are ******... Someone asks a newbie question, as the forum encourages them to do, and what's the result?
FLAME ON!!!!!

Some of you just need to chill and not take this e-world crap too seriously. This ain't myspace, worldcraft or anything else. If a person asks a question, stay on topic and help them find the answer, even if it means linking to a thread in the Q&A section.

no problem dude. I am somewhat of a newby myself and have had a huge portion of bashing made to me as well for stupid reasons. People seem to be ****ing obsessed with posting "try using the search" even tho sometimes the search doesn't always show the answer. I think everyone should be helped if they needed it.

Glad to be of help! But hey even if your check engine light came off, you can still damage the o2 sensors from prolonged exposure to the exhaust so installing spark plug non foulers as I described is a must! They are like $4 per pack of 2 and you'll need 2 packs. Only takes a few minutes to install but it will help save yoru o2 sensors so they don't go bad.
