I had a CAI on 4 other cars, 1 of them was 4 inches off the ground and dragged all the time and I drove that thing in the rain and never had any issues. I don't know why the Z is any different. I don't have to drive that fast in heavy rain with the Z and the CAI starts to suck up water, so I have to keep it below 2500 rpm
I did too with my AEM, it's because of the little slits in the fenderwell. Short ram that shizz and get a cf air vent.

AEM Solution...
I cut the piping to make my CAI into Short Ram. I had that problem everytime i would wash my car, i couldnt rev past 2500 or else it would start to stall. I post pics later, actually turned out pretty cool.

Yeah I just took the bottom pipe off and got another pipe with a bend so it would sit right. It sounded better and got more air with the intake vent. I think I got too much air without a tune cause I kept throwin a A/F ratio Lean code. I took it off and just put a k&n drop filter until I decide to get a UTEC.

HAHAHA OP! why were you using a Ricer *** CAI? it doesnt improve hp at all on these cars. im pretty sure your insurance wont cover it if you have an aftermarket intake. better put the stock one back on and get it all wet. lol

correct. You're not a gay *** ricer if you have a CAI, lots of people have them. But I work for insurance and as a claims adjuster I have seen people's claims be denied due to having aftermarket parts what put it lower to the ground and void the warranty.
Best thing is to put the stock one back on and get it all dirty and wet, though they will find it hard to believe all that water penetraded the box and soaked the filter that much.
Good luck with your motor tho!
