Default Hotels in SD? (Nothing crazy but nothing cheap either)

SD guys, whats a good hotel to crash at.. nothing insane just a good place to stay.. few friends are coming from outta country for chinese new years and going around the zoo, sea world, etc..

the Marriot in mission valley is decent and reasonably priced. That's all I know about that isn't resort-esc

the wyndham emerald plaza was a nice hotel....not crazy expensive
