Default need a little input: Brake pads

whats up guys. right now im running on stoptech stage 2 brake kit. (non-brembo)

whenever i stop (from first tap on brake till a complete stop)... i get a really loud squeeking sound on my front right. i was thinking about changing the brake pads. (im currently using axiss)

i would like one with low brake dust(hassel cleaning the rims)
and of course one that does not squeek.

nismo? hawks? endless?

any inputs will be very helpful. thanks

Posi Quiet all the way. Was in the same situation, Stoptech stage 2, pads are squeaking and wearing thin. Tried out Posi Quiet and never looked back. Brake paddle feels firm and responsive, low dust, and real quiet. You can get them online (http://www.brakewarehouse.com/centric_brake_pads.asp) or there's a place in Canoga Park that have them in stock. And of course, price is real good too!

stay away from hawk hps, i just had mines put in yesturday. IMO, oem pads feel MUCH better over hawks. sure low dust and probably last longer, but the feeling of the bite and grab isnt there anymore.

with brake pads you usually get what you pay for.

OEM pads probably offer the best compromise for noise, dust, and cold stopping.

Nismo pads are really good too and didn't fade at the track when I tried them.

Axxis pads are great, but can get noisy, get some brake cleaner, and spray down the pad and caliper. Basically from my experience with axxis, keep the car clean, little or no noise. The dirtier the car, the more the noise. Still a great pad in my opinion, just gets noisy when dirty.

I don't know if I'm right. But you will also clean out the copper based grease on the back of the pads. The grease usually help prevent squealing

true, may need to remove the pads to add more brake quiet to the back of the pads.

If you think Axxis squeaks bad, I would avoid the HPS. Not only that, brake dust galore.

for track, try the Raybesto ST-41. i think they are better than the Carbotech XP8 and the life on them is very good. still got a lot of meat on them. i only got 1 track day with the XP8s.

Ferodo makes great pads, stops very well, but you will have a nice coat of brake dust on your wheels. Great pads for stopping, horrible pads for keeping your wheels clean

brake pads are over-rated i think you should run absolutely no brake pads. You never have to change them! So i highly recommend no brake pads at all.
