Default My cat is a greek god.

Ok so, I moved to SoCal in October last year. I'm from Florida. Now, I know with dryness comes static electricity, but it's very rare in Florida and as such, turns me into an instasissy whenever something shocks me.

Insert purring feline here.

My cat is the reincarnation of Zeus. Or maybe she thinks I am. Either way she tends to build up a ****load of electricity just doing the normal things she does. If she walks over to me and nudges my hand to pet her, she and I both get the zap of a frickin lifetime.

When this happens, I yank my hand back at lightning speeds. She jumps back, meows, and then loos at me like I did it on purpose. She then will disappear and hold a grudge until the next time she decides to reappear and bolt me one for no reason.

Is there anything I can do? Spray her with something? Yell at her? Try to explain static electricity to her?

Sometimes she walks by plastic bags and they tumble over towards her... she hates plastic bags, so its pretty funny now that they *actually* chase her.

Anyways, what's up with this stuff, guys? In the words of lolcats.. DO NOT WANT.

Stick her in a dryer with a sheet of Bounce... one way or another, it'll solve your problem.

This happens to me 99.99% of the time. It is insanely annoying! Now that the weathere has been all dry, the zapping has gotten alot stronger. Im afraid to close my doors now...
