Default Crashed by a cop.

Im just wondering if anyone has ever been hit by a cop. Yes a COP! My Z was parked outside a friends house. A cop got hit at the center of an intersection, bounced off, came toward my baby hitting her in the front bumper. Fortunatly it was only a scratch but the car that was in front of mine (a buick) was, uhhh, lets just say retired. The driver of the Neon (the female that hit the cop) took off. Here is the cool part. Im in the Army and i was in uniform that day, so i asked the cop if he wanted me to chase HER. he said yes and well what do you know, it gave me a chance to hit 85mph on the street. The driver got away though(it had a min head start and i wasnt sure where it headed). They offered me to pay for the damage but i refused (just thought it was the man thing to do) telling them it was ok as long as no one was hurt. Actually they even said if i wanted them to get me some rubbing compound to see if the scrach would come off. Good guys i guess, or was it the uniform that got to them. I managed to take most of the scratch of by the way. No it doesnt happen in COMPTON that often. And NO i DIDNT steal the Z. Hahahahaha.

No actually it was a faded blueish neon. hell if anyone has any info on a neon that was crashed on 5/04/08, let me know. it was a female driver mid 30s it happened at the intersection of acacia and alondar in the city of compton at about 6:40 pm.

while that's just about as awesome as it can get, what would have happened if you'd gotten into an accident while chasing this person.. who's at fault?

i didn't know cops could authorize civilians to chase other civilians.. that's kinda cool.. and scary?

I dont know what would have happened? but was i considered a civilian in military uniform? probably huh? It was kinda cool taking a few red lights, but yeah scary trust me. my clutch foot was shaking through every shift.

I dont think so because the cop was hit through the driver side. but it might have caught the part where it hit my z and the buick.

I'm pretty sure they aren't suppose to and shouldn't even if they are "authorized". The deputy(Compton contracts LA Sheriffs department) probably just said yes out of frustration and disorientation.

similar story... in compton... i saw a ford focus slam into a beater in an intersection... spun the beater out... and took off

i'm guessing the compton dmv handbook states that "all drivers must speed away from the scene of an accident"
