You think $4.50 is bad, my co-worker is hurting worse since he drives a 04 Ram diesel and gas prices around his area is $5.30 a gallon, yea you heard it right.

Luckily he got his truck converted to veggie oil 2 weeks ago. He's still working out the bugs and filtering his own oil from the restaurants but the real tests comes when he goes up to the dunes next month.

I don't mind the higher prices... I started to notice less traffic and people actually driving close to the speed limit.. and less a-holes.
funny you mentioned that my neighbor has a powerstroke diesel ford who raved about it since he got it. I even got him a turbo and intercooler for him but lately he does not even drive it that much and has to settle for his wife's honda accord. I remember when I go the XB how he use to rip me for it but it seems like I got the last laugh. On the XB I could simply pull up to a Arco and use 87 octane all day long. The Z on the otherhand has never seen one drop of Arco or any octane under 91.

Can't see you in an xB but then again that's how all beaters are. I did also notice less lifted pickups on the freeways.... thank goodness.

in 2 years, when the gas is $8, we'll find this thread and say, 'damn, I wished the gas was that low again'

Yeah, but you're paying in CDN$. Which makes it about the same. Freaking Alex Trebek and Celine Dion!

It's over $4.50 for 91 in San Bruno.

No, the cdn dollar and us dollar are around par. For a long time our dollar was more than yours.

In the valley it's around $4.19 (the lowest I've seen in decent gas like Chevron, Shell..) and up to about $4.89 (usually the stations around the fwy..) Diesel, is really a shocker, I've seen it up to about $5.15 a gallon (if I owned a diesel... I'd switch to biodiesel in a heart beat...) f*ck that I'm not going to pay that much, I'm already hitting $70 to fill an empty tank.. I can imagine with $5+

whats sad about this is people will be happy about paying $3.50 when/if it goes back down in price.. then next time your at the pump look at the label on there, it says were paying like $0.50 in taxes ( its like .35 for state and like some change for another tax can't remember what it was for though) hell if they lowered /got rid of the tax it would drop the price a little..

TAXES: i think its wrong that they take taxes out of my paycheck.. then i go to the store, fastfood place, anywhere and they tax the money that has already been taxed..DAMN I hate the Government ...im ok with paying my taxes once but, every time i buy somthing...come on

Sorry about that RANT from left field.

Default I hate government control but....

According to what I've heard/read we have an abundance of oil in our
reserves. Why doesn't Jr. free some of that up to bring our cost of living
down? As you all know EVERYTHING is effected by the cost of oil/gas!
The very cheapest Chevron 91 octane in my town is $4.19 gal....NICE!

Serious. I have just found myself driving a lot less. No more canyon runs and drives. Just school work and home with no detours. And bumming rides on weekends haha.
