Not necessarily. If we do the run after the meet, there may be less people at the run, but the meet is where its at. Besides, we've done quite a few runs in the past few months and sometimes its just more fun to be chillin. Also, who could deny free food? :P

Anyway, if we do have the run afterwards we can weed out the weak ones

Good day, fellow Zheads. I have just returned from scouting Mission Bay Beach. The initial report is that parking is adequate up till 11 am. After which, the place will gradually fill up. This being the case, I suggest that we have the cruise after the meet/bbq.

I've found a couple parking lots that will properly accomodate our cars. One is at the very northern tip of the park. The benefits of this locale are that it is more secluded and there is less traffic. The downside is that it is not near the 'park center' which is where you can rent the seadoos, bicycles, etc.

The second lot is a little more south. It gets more drive by traffic and is a more 'prime' location (due to the view, more beach/park space). This location will fill up faster than the first.

San Diego peoples - Do you have a preference or suggestion? If not, I will probaby choose the location by 'feel' on the day of the meet. There will be cones, a sign of some kind, and perhaps a baloon or two to indicate where we are. Also, there will Zs in the parking lot

Also as a recap, the meet will be on August 9. Please arrive at or around 10:30 am to ensure adequate parking. I will provide directions soon.

Dan knows about it - I told him. Hopefully he'll come. I don't know why he's MIA - is he boycotting this site?

Anyway, Jae, it might not make sense for us to bring down burgers - they'll be melted by the time I get down there, and I can't have freezer runoff in the Z, but I will definitely chip in $$ for the food, etc.

What else do we need? I can bring plates, napkins, and forks.

 

Around what time do you guys think you'll be heading out on the run? The reason I ask is because I won't be available till ~ 12:30 p.m. Hopefully you guys will still be at the beach when I get there, if not, hope you guys have fun, and don't forget to take plenty of pix......

 

Howdy all, for those curious about what will be on the menu:

I will be providing, 48 hotdogs and 48 burgers (condiments included), and 48 sodas of some kind. Hopefully, this will cover all of us. I will also be providing plates, cups and napkins. What you can bring (optional):

Potato Salad, Chips, Dips, Bottled Water, Fruit, Deserts, Plastic utensils - forks and spoons (or knives), etc. (or anything else not on this list).

If you do plan on bringing something, please post it so others can plan their donations.

Cruise Details : The cruise will be AFTER the meet and is completely OPTIONAL. Honestly, I think it would be nice just to chill at the beach all day. But we don't drive Zs to chill, right ? My guess is that we will start after 1 pm or whenever everyone is properly fed and ready.
