Hey all,

My afternoon plans have changed, so it looks like I can join in for the cruise.

Any idea on when you guys will be heading out for that? I have lunch plans, but will head over to the bay when I'm done there, so hopefully you haven't left yet. Otherwise, I'll just have to haul *** to catch up!

Hey, are there any plans after the meet? I'm not exactly sure if the park is still open around dinner time so is anyone interested in dinner? Maybe something else afterward? S.W.A.T. comes out friday I believe so maybe a movie? A full day's worth of fun sounds so appealing to me right now.

It looks like I can make it, although I'm still day to day due to the possible strike against Verizon on the east coast. If there is anyone from L.A. County north, heading down the 405 FWY let me know and maybe we can drive together.

Wow, this is a grip load of more Z's compared to the last beach meet I first attended. I will definitely try and make it out to this meet especially when it's in cool SD. Iris and Hfm, I'll most likely try to meet you guys at that gas station if anything by the time you guys listed. If not, then most likely something happened. Looking forward to Saturday.

I got a buddie of mine that is coming with me. He just got a new Evo II and wants to see what it can do on the cruise. Also will bring some extra drink and desert since the group has gotten bigger.

Sounds good Isaac. But 8:30 is now the time, no waiting - b/c we are meeting kaiser along the way (at the 405/10 interchange b/c he lives near the Marina). So in order to time everything right and not have kaiser be waiting too long, we're going to have to leave that gas station at 8:30 a.m. Hope to see you!

 

Quick change of plans for me. Iris, I'm gonna head down to Newport Beach tonight and most likely gonna crash there. Then in the morning depart from there. So you don't have to wait for me. Thanks for the quick reply though~! Hope to see everyone there and drive safely. Oh, and bringing a friend with me (possibly).

THE SAN DIEGO CHILL-OUT MEET 'n CRUISE

When: Saturday August 9th - 10:30 am
Where: Mission Bay Beach / Park

Directions:

The address above is simply a street (North Mission Bay Dr.). On the I5 South you will take the Mission Bay Dr exit. It will curve around and you will take a left turn towards the bay. Then turn right on Mission Bay Dr. There are parking lots on the left side of the road. One of these will be our home... which one will be decided the day of. So how do you know where we are?

1) Look for Zs
2) Look for a sign that says.. "Z"
3) Bring a FRS radio and set it to channel 3 sub 0 and call for help.

Meet Plans:

I strongly suggest you arrive before 11:00 am to get prime parking. I will do my best to reserve some spots, but it is unfair to other park visitors so please do your best to be prompt (if you want to park with the others Zs).

The meet occurs first. Food and Drink will be provided. 48 Hotdogs, 48 burgers, and 48 sodas for your consumption. You are welcome to bring more food (i.e. chips, dips, bottled water, cookies, etc.) . Donations of $1 are also welcome

Suggested Items to Bring with You:

The location is a park so you may want to bring the following:

1) Beach Towels or Fold-up chairs (if they fit in the Z
)
2) Umbrella if you want some shade.
3) Sun Screen
4) Anything Else you might need for a typical beach/park outing.

You may also want to bring some cash if you wish to rent bicycles, pedal boats, seadoos, rollerblades, etc.

Cruise Details:

The cruise starts whever everybody is happy and fed. This portion of the meet is totally optional, but since people want to drive, I've plotted out a route that is short and sweet.

Route Directions will be provided at the meet. But here is a quick run down. 5 North, Exit Villa De La Valle, Go to Del Dios Highway. Take Del Dios to I15 North. Hop onto Highland Valley. Cut across Julian to Wildcat Canyon. End at the I8 West.

Approximately 1.5 hours.

When the cruise ends I will guide LA folks to the 5 North. Thus ends our meet and cruise.

IMPORTANT NOTE

If you are not going to the cruise, you DO NOT have to leave the park when the group goes for the cruise. My housemates, and a few Z peeps will hang around to chill some more.

There is a good chance we will get done with the cruise before it's time to pack up at the park. I will probably be heading back to Mission Bay after the cruise.

I'm sending this message in case people are thinking they *have* to leave when we go on the cruise. Like I said, the cruise is optional so feel free to stay at the park as long as you like.

 

One more thing...

The list has grown beyond what I had initially imagined it would be. As such, if you are a San Diegan, I hope you are able to come *slightly* earlier (say 10 am?). This way we can do the old park-in-two-spots routine to save some spaces for the LA peeps.

As for the LA-peeps, I now have to 'strongly urge' you to arrive on time (at 10:30 am) if you want to park in the same lot. There are a couple large lots a short stroll away, but I figure Z's like to flock (and park) together.
