So... does this mean you just dropped it without shocks?

I remember I did that to a civic back in 1998... and although it looked real nice slammed... i think i caused a lot of damage to the car.

Ya right now its just Eibach springs. I am still deciding on which shocks/camber rods to run with. Until then I am on stock shocks. Even though the spring rate is not matched, I don't think that the Eibachs are too far off from stock.

Well, your car does look like it's slammed pretty good! Don't get me wrong... it looks GREAT! Just don't want you to do any damage to your beautiful Z.

Anyhow, how's the ride quality? Does it butterfly at all? Compare to stock ride please.

eric,

I have the eibachs as well. In terms of ride, it smooths out the harshness of the stock springs. So the porpoising is mostly gone. Some parts of the Los Angeles Highways you can not get around it even in a lexus. The roads being so messed up.

In terms of height, Yes the car is lower. With the 17 inch rims I do scrap on certain driveways but I was scraping before.

For me this is a temporary fix for the porpoising b/c it was annoying me. I plan eventually to get some TEIN's.

If you are interested please PM me or Chris for our mechanic.

-Jeff

Not that it relates specifically to the Z, but I've had Eibachs with stock shocks on my Cougar for almost four years now, and it still rides great. The shocks haven't lost much of the their damping at all, and I've even had the car on the track a few times. They also worked well with the stock shocks on my Mazda6, but they've only been on that car since December.

Default Ya what bobowah said!

ya eventually it would be great to get some TEINS or JIC. I just couldn't justify that much $$ and I haven't even made one payment
What am I saying... even if I could justify it I still couldn't afford it

My thought exactly when installing them. I believe the Eibachs spring rates are the closest to stock out of all aftermarket springs.

For the Civic there are two sets of springs available Prokit and Sportsline.

The Sportsline is straight up race springs... so they will blow your suspension very quickly and mess with your camber and could wear out some bearings and joints.

We have Pro-kits which are the mild springs. The worst thing that coud happen is your wear out your shocks in 40,000 vs 60,000 miles and have some slight camber issues.

The worst thing to do is to cut springs which some people do.

Just so we are straight that the Eibach Pro-kits will not mess up your car.

Chris get an alignment so you aren't bitching in 5000 miles that you wore out your tires...

I know... But if the tires do wear its a great excuse to search for new rim/tire combos

That's my plan. I don't plan to do any suspension or bodywork until I get rims. IMHO, I think the rims should be the first aftermarket job anybody does for exterior. A car with a nice body kit, with stock wheels looks kinda cheesy to me.

Well, that's my .02 cents.

I'm with you on that. I think rims make the biggest diff. on a Z. Ya I too dislike bodykits w/stock rims.. Its like cheeze wiz

Smile 56 KB Warned - Happy with Eibachs

Crew:

This is a link to my - Step by Step Eibach install..

WW in Anaheim Calif did the install..

The install was on friday - the AC run my350z.com group was on sunday.

I estimated the drop affected the camber -.5 to minus .8

No alignment has been done. As I want at least a 1000 mile, to set the suspention.

I intend to have a Local Dealer set the suspension alignment - after the TSB of lane drift (Change lower control arm for Crowned Roads) is done.

However the camber change was tested at speed down the Angeles Crest run and by cracking the passanger window, the squeal from the tires sounded equal, in hard right to left turns. On the mountain turns. TCS on.

Have watched tire wear and the extra camber is not apparent for more wear. The Nissan alignment will be the test.

Here is the link to the Eibach install. 56K users warned.

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=36235

I love the Eibachs, now for Koni Gas Shocks or equel.

Cheers Amy -
