Default horrible night

so just got home was driving on the lovely 55 freeway going north towards home when i get pulled over by the police so after pulling into the gas station on the offramp he not only writes me up for speeding (going 95) which is ridiculous since i was going a good 75 tops he also writes me up for a modified exhaust and window tint and on top of tht he forgets to give me my insurance card back and drives off

so pissed off i get back on the freeway now on the 91 going west almost home when a lovely dark grey g35 rolls up to me with some black work wheels the deep dish 1s and i belive it had the injen true dual exhaust set up so the whole time i try and drive to the side of this guy to give him props for his car cause i thought it was nice to my surprise he takes the same offramp so right when im beside him to give him a he just does burn out and goes right it was some sort of latino fellow with a shaved head no offense to n e 1

so pretty much a shitty night

and what is going on with the g35 and 350z drivers now a days more and more rice and disrespect ugh

also n e 1 know if what i could do about the modified exhaust and or tint i know im gonna have to take the tint off

but the exhaust i thought were aloud to have aftermarket exhausts?

Hey sorry to hear that man. At least your safe, and nothing happened to you or your car. Tomorrow is another day, and I always like to think that whenever something bad happens to me hopefully something good will come out of it to balance it out.

and to the comment to the gs....i would like an answer also =)

Sorry for your misfortunes man...Here is what I know.

A friend of mine got a tint ticket here in San Diego...and instead of having them removed...waited for the notification to come in the mail, and simply paid 12X.XX to have it done with. The way he saw it was...if he had taken them off, and paid 20 bucks for court fees, he would've spent another 200 for tint. Just pay the ticket when it comes in the mail.

2. As far as speeding goes...did you ask him how he knew you were going 95? If he estimated this speed, i'm sure it'll be relatively easy to dispute in court. If he got you on radar, than you're pretty much SOL. At least he didn't impound your vehicle, as 30 over could land you a reckless driving/speeding + impound of vehicle (something along those lines).

As far as the exhaust is concerned, I believe all you have to do, is go to a PD, and have them check it out. When I got an exhaust ticket back when I was driving my altima, I brought it to the station, showed them that it was actually quiet, they just signed it off and let me go.

These are just from personal experiences. Sorry if I can't be of much help, but take it for what it's worth...and try it out

sorry for your bad night bro but its okay it happens to everyone once in a while.

but as far as the exhaust question when it comes down to it... any modification to your exhaust/cat is illegal in the state of california. Not only are you suppose to "fix it" by replacing the aftermarket back with the stock exhaust... I hear that you have to also pay an additional fine now [i'm not to sure on that my buddy got one a few months ago but it was for header modification]

best of luck to you

^2 wks ago i went to court and settled my ticket (illegal tint and smoked tailights/reverse lights. the new rule is you have to fix the violation and goto court and inspector will sign you off. then you gotta go inside and pay inspection fee of $15 plus whatever the fee for your violation is.

YOU GOTTA PAY TO PLAY

SO is the modified exhaust a correctable violation? Or can you just pay the fine and not get it inspected?

I realize I have to pay to play, but having to stick my stock exhaust back just for inspection on is a PAIN in the **** (particulary since I'll probably put the modified exhaust back on anyway...)

it depends on whether the officer chked off the violation for correctable or incorrectable. for instance, the officer chked off my tint as correctable but my smoked lights were chked off as incorrectable. so i fixed the tint and had no fine but for the smoked lights i had to fix it/get it inspected/pay a fee for smoked lights which was~$180. most of the time the inspector doesn't give a sheit and if your coo with him he will just sign his name meaning you corrected it. i was suppose to take off my smoked lights and reverse tailights but didn't and inspector complimented me on my ride and just signed me off

Yah it's up to the discretion of the cops to decide if he feels like giving you a ticket...you can prove that your car dosen't surpass 95dB and clear the ticket...with a nominal testing fee...

http://www.semasan.com/main/main.aspx?id=60106

what a rip...either way, you pay if a cop is having a pms day and decides to go after you cuz he's jealous of your car...

Not to make your day worse, but read this thread:

https://my350z.com/forum/southern-ca...ee-closed.html

The only good part it that the second ticket for modified exhaust will, in all likelyhood, be thrown out as it would put you in double jeporty. You shouldn't be convicted of the same thing while you are in the process of correction for the 1st notice of violation. I think a simple converstation with the judge will clear that up.
