Default Nice Hotels in San Diego...?

so, do you guys know of any?

me and the girlfriend have our anniversary comin up and we were thinking of going to san diego for a couple days.

any suggestions? probably somewhere near the san diego zoo, since we plan on going there one of the days.

and any suggestions on some nice restaurants?

budget for hotel can be from $150-$200 a night.

no budget for the restaurant.......we don't mind paying good money for good food

thanks.

deng, never even heard of this place. would probably stay here if it was just one night......other than that, it's a little out of budget.

very unique, though.

In downtown, gaslamp area, you can find some pretty decent deals at the bigger hotels if you check travelocity, priceline, etc. As long as there are no conventions you should be able to find a decent rate. Im pretty sure you can get within your budget.

I found the funkier Gaslamp hotels because everyone is going to say Coronado (which is beyond great). But there are eclectic hotels in the Gaslamp that will make the trip way more fun and unique.

for me the US Grant is awesome. There is one with an awesome red lobby and for the life of me I can't remember the name but it was like a huge bed and breakfast. way fun.

US Grant was kinda cool last time I was there (Long time ago). Old hotel, but right in the middle of downtown. If you like to people watch etc, it was fun.

As mentioned above, priceline and other hotel room buying sites are great. I got a room at the Hyatt in La Jolla for $149 a while back.

The Hard Rock is nice...though I'm not sure how much it runs.

You would be right in the heart of Gaslamp: literally across the street from the Convention center/ Petco Park. You have excellent restaurants orbiting that spot too....like the Strip Club Steak house, late dining at Mary Janes.

Even if it costs a little more, you're within walking distance of everything at that spot. The atmosphere is worth it.

holiday inn express have a couple of newly built units there - they are cheap to stay at, and pretty quality since it's new. one is right next to the zoo there and I believe it was like 120$/night.

+1 on Omni.

Literally across the street from Hard Rock and shares a bridge/ door with the new Petco Stadium.

If you happen to be watching a baseball game, that place is money.
