You can put smooth tires on it... but if you are riding the trails alot that would be a hassle.

I usually do 35-40 miles but I start and end in Long Beach.

i'm a cyclist. I ride road and bmx but also ride with a bunch of fixed gear guys. I actually just bought a truck and am getting rid of my Z in a few weeks because of mainly having to carry bikes around.

on another note, I'm a manager at a Performance Bicycles in Santa Monica and can help you guys out with anything if you ever needed it.

I just bought a road bike! I've never gone on a long ride before but I'd be interested in joining you guys once I'm confident I can keep up.

if you're in the south bay, i've been on a couple group road rides saturday mornings in redondo beach. the southbaywheelmen host the ride. goes through PV, usually 35-40 miles, no drop policy.

Nice! I ride 4 times a week, longer rides on weekends of course. Just started riding on the road in July. I was taking spinning classes at the gym for 2 years before that, thought I'd pedal outdoors and feel the bike actually go somewhere.

Bikes actually have the same right as cars on the road, so they can use car lanes if they want or need to if there are no bike lanes. Sidewalk riding is illegal. Please go around us instead of honking, you may startle a rider if you honk and may cause an accident, we can hear you coming believe it or not and we will get out of the way as much as we can, but sometimes there's no way around it, just be patient and go around us as soon as you get the chance.

Riding is addicting, but in a good way, never felt or been so fit before I discovered riding.
