Anyone else
Work at a Nissan dealership in sales? Just curious, since right now, my dealership (HB surf city Nissan) is surviving but not thriving. How are sales going over at the other dealerships?
We're throwing all kinds of incentives right now for people to even just come into the dealership. It's driving me nuts that we've got the people coming in wanting to buy cars but with the credit crunch hitting us hard we can't put them into cars without ridiculously large down payments.
Also, any people looking to buy, what are you guys wanting from the dealership?
Either way guys, it is much appreciated whatever input you guys have.

Well, apparently we need more sales staff, if interested PM me.
Things you want to have:
1. Sales license
2. some sales experience
3. Good people skills

If people have good credit like they should, they wouldn't have to worry about putting down a ton of money. I have a 785 and just bought a new Murano at 4.9% with no money down. Its because stupid people bought what they couldn't afford, the stupid bank gave them the money, and screwed up their own credit. Blame it on your customers who you know are buying something that they can't pay for and the banks for allowing it.

I work for a credit union within only a few miles of your dealership and we are definately lending to people with excellent credit, regardless of money down. However, like i said their credit has to be good/excellent. If their credit scores are not in the high 600's chances are we won't be able to do anything for them. Keep my contact info handy, we might be able to help each other out.
Just some things that are a must for us to approve a loan is,
-good credit(high 600's or higher)
-previous auto buyer(or have a joint)
-tax documented income(basically provide pay stubs as proof of income)
-low Debt to income ratio.

And how hard is any of that to accomplish with just a tiny sense of self control?

In regards to credit, would you say most of your buyers have strong credit but you guys are having trouble with lendors?

Yea, for the most part banks don't want to even lend to people with mid 600 credit scores. We've had people with not so great credit with POI that's ridiculous and a large down payment and banks still didn't want to take the deal.
