Default New Year's Day Run 1.1.2009 (6th Annual Tour D' Orange)

For those of you familiar with the old Crystal Cove meets (now Cars N Coffee), this is an annual drive many of these guys do on New Years morning which is always a lot of fun. If you can wake up for it, its one of the best drives of the year.

From Bench-racing.com

January 1st 2009 NEW YEARS DAY 6th Annual “Tour d’Orange”. This Orange County Tradition continues with a 9AM departure from the corner of Red Hill and Fischer in Costa Mesa (MAP). Around 200 participants drive this two hour route. Arguably the first car event of the New Year.

Looks like fun. I usually to the TRE run in the malibu or angeles crest area, but might check this out instead.

I should be able to make it. It'll be early but definitely worth it! Don't sleep in like past years!

Pretty mellow cruise, but it was fun. Actually I think the part I enjoyed the most was after the canyons on the way to In-n-out. If you were near the front of the group, everyone kept taking off at every stoplight and drove a bit more spirited in general.

If you guys want a more spirited drive, next time you should consider the annual TRE run that takes place during new years day as well. I also think their route is a bit more enjoyable as it's one little hop on the freeway, then it's all canyons after that.

Sweet, there I am in the last pic.

That was an awesome run though, dann shame I got stuck behind some slower people for half the time though. Couldn't enjoy the actual canyon much.
