Thumbs down California Tax Return

so I went to my accountant today to file my taxes and he said state will give me an 'IOU' ??? wtf is that?!. It was first that they were going to delay it for a month, but now they don't know when they'll pay us, if ever?

bunch of poor motherfokkers sucking up state services, along with bad budgeting by politicians= tax payer getting PWND. If it was several hungred bux, I wouldn't give a shat, but I should be getting a very significant amount!
No mods for me

Simple...

Apply this year's state tax refund to next year's taxes.
Adjust your state withholding so that you pay no state taxes for the next year.
Thereby giving the state an IOU in return.

This is one option worth considering.

An IOU to the state of California, sure if you don't mind paying interest.
Wouldn't it be nice if they'd quit playing games in Sacramento, raise taxes
if that's what it takes and leave our school system alone. I can't think of
a worse screw up than cutting our children's education.

Quote from the latest update:
"Due to the state’s persistent cash and budget problems, the State Controller has directed FTB to stop sending refund requests to the State Controller’s Office for payment. Refund payments will resume when the State Controller indicates there is enough cash available to make refund payments."

Makes it sound like we could be without a state refund for a couple years

Thats great but do they figure in interest for your refund? After all they do on yours.

negative.. that was the original announcement, but now, they're being vague and saying that there's no money.

state have money to send 10 of their employees to Sacramento for a week of training... paying round trip airfare, hotel(for each, no sharing) all food expenses paid, and giving a rental car for every two people! WTFFF!

my friend thinks state paid $1000 per person

why not bring that ONE trainer HERE!!!
