Autocross Indio, CA March 14 & 15
On Saturday and Sunday, March 14 & 15, 2009, the Palm Springs Corvette Club, and
our sponsor, Jessup Chevrolet, will host the 10th Annual Autocross Challenge
at the Riverside County Fairgrounds in Indio, California. This fun
event raises money for our charity program.

I've gone the last 3 year, its very fun. Wondering if anyone here is going?
They supply helmets all you need to bring is your drivers licence and reg, proof of insurance.

Oh hell yeah. I tried going last year but they are pretty strict with the requirements. So don't bring your expired insurance card with you 'cause they won't let you run.

I've missed it every year cuz either I didn't hear about it or I was out of town. It's on my calendar now. I would love to try it. I've done them at manufacturers day events and it was fun, but I don't think I'll drive My Z the way I drove Their cars.
Thanks for the reminder.

Hey, for you guys that showed up ran, just curious what were your times?
I, like dumbass, didn't get there 'til 2:30. They wouldn't let me run. . First time I actually watched a live Auto-X. For some reason, I imaged it would be a disadvantage for the Vettes since the lanes are tight, but, while I was there, they seemed to post some of the fastest times. I think the fastest one was 42 secconds.
I've never Auto-Xed, but, after seeing SUV's and Texas Massacre like vans do the course, I'm a little more motivated to try *any* next auto-X event that comes along.

I went Sunday, between 11 and 2. I didn't see any 350Z's. There was a nice red 300Z TT there when I was there. There was a 45 minute delay to clean oil off the course that a civic spilled. My best time was 51.4 which isn't very good but it was my first tiime and I'm happy with that. Plus, I hate to abuse my car too much. But it was fun and I'll try to do it next year again. I was surprised there were all kinds of vehicles there.
