Default Ticket question

I got a ticket while driving across Kansas. Anybody know how it works with DMV? I assume it will end up on my DMV record. Can I get traffic school to clear this off my record?

I believe it depends on the infraction. Some you can go to driving school to clear up your record, others you can't. What did you get ticketed for?

Depends on the states, too, for reporting purposes.

Utah, Arizona, Oregon, and Nevada all share infraction information with California. However, Colorado does not.

Try contacting the DMV in Kansas to see if they report infractions to the California DMV. If not, you should only need to pay the fine and move on. If so, then you get to pay the fine and live with the point on your license (i don't recall if california allows out of state ticket points to be erased through traffic school).

The correct answer is no, you can't take traffic school for a ticket in Kansas. California rules don't apply to Kansas. If they have such a system, you can take advantage of it, but if they don't you are SOL.

Kansas has a reciprocating agreement with California on citations and it will find it's way to your CA license as an out of state ticket (code 01). Oh, CA courts normally don't allow traffic school if you are more than 20mph over the speed limit. Not that it doesn't happen, but it is more of the exception rather than the norm.
