im selling my FI civic soon so i will have a little change to either charge her or go FI but i think i want a charger
)
if i go FI then YES but if i go charged then no... im sure the VQ can handle 450 (MAX) safely charged... but i already have a core over at SMS motor sports i need to finish paying up on so i can consider what i want to do from there....
if not id recommend going supercharger / less stress on engine. Not only that the supercharger is cheaper to install/ easier to install, if it breaks its still driveable, unlike a turbo, if it breaks cars done also, and best of all some of the vortech's are completely carb legal.
smart man. Superchargers are legit though, except the HP gains aren't as crazy as FI. I believe the TQ gains are around the same.
i would go with a super charger... i like the reliability. but i think you can find supercharger kits for around 3500 bucks. don;t quote me on that though.
yeah rebuild engine... that's gonna come sooner or later. really not your choice. hahaha.

i think id rather spend the money on that LS2 swap. theres a member on this forum thats doing it and so far hes spent 14 grand. I think hes doing some of the work himself though...
But having a regular N/A V8 is alot safer than a turbo'd/sc'd unbuilt vq...

430 whp on a charger is less than turbo? i mean if you have some built engine then yeah... 500 is good. but just turbo a oem engine... i don't think you would want to do much more than 430... what do you think waz?
fuuuuuuuk that... i have like $5k to spend MAX... and thats it hahahhaa i aint no Chris Forsburg in this beyotch
mikey what would you recommend to rebuild on the Z to push past the 450 mark "safely"? like i said, i have a core already and i can start the project anytime after the civic sells... what is the weakest part of the Z when under boost?

The only thing it includes is the kit, labor, parts, and dyno tuning. They dont touch any of the internals though.
In that one guys thread with the LS2 swap, 14 grand got him most of the parts, the motor and transmission.
Man i would LOVE to have a VK56DE like Chris Forsbergs car!! that thing sounds so crazy. If i had 20g's to burn i would def do that.
go to the FI section... bunch of ppl saying this is better than that. all bs if you ask me. dood, you can drift on a stock z... haha. for tracks, a lot of power is not necessary a good thing. small track, you get owned. why don't you think about building the engine and get some good bolt on parts and get everything tunes and suspension adjusted. you will probably be much happier with those results at the track than just simply slap a FI system in the car. you have to think about what you want your car for? drift or track? or just pure hp to go straight?
if you baller enough... do everything. i do not know much about the weakness of the motor under boost. didn't do any research on it since i do not plan on FI'ing my hr.
just my $0.02

GTM's turnkey stage 1 twin turbo for the HR is 11 grand.
