What year would you recommend for a beginner like me Mike? I know a little bit here and there about cars, but when it comes to sports bikes, I do not have a single clue. I guess I just need a temporary bike to learn and fall on so that when I get a 2nd bike, I can just enjoy it. I plan on getting the Ninja ultimately though, just enough to get me across the city. Heck if you think a scooter will teach me how to ride, then I'm all for it haha.
Im really thinking of getting a SV to ride too.. got my license, just never got a bike.. got a few things to take care of first, then I'll get the SV
^^ Is taking class necessary, or can you just go take a test to get the license? I see people learning on weekends in Mt. Sac haha.
Hey.... Also, you remember the Asian guy with the white EVO X when we were at Super Autobacs for the HB meet? You know if he has any clips of his exhaust note?

and ya that class helps alot. definitely take it! plus it counts as road test.. so just get ur paper test passed after n ur good

just sign up at mt sac when the schedule comes out. i took that class years ago even when i knew how to ride already. skipping the riding test at the dmv is great. i hate waiting around all day for that crap.
the sv is a nice bike... but it bigger than the 250's. might not be great if it is your first bike that you are learning on. seriously, i think the kawasaki ninja 250 is a great first bike. like i said my friend still rides it to commute on. it's very easy to ride, and it is easy to handle. you will learn everything you need to learn on that bike. plus, if you drop the damn thing, you won't feel as hurt. trust me on this one. unless you know what the heck your are doing, don't bike your dream bike. you are going to see that sucker beat to hell after a few drops. lol.

Id sell one of you guys my bike, but im pretty sure tony will try to jew me on the price. hahaha
Id love to have an SV650 or SV1000 though. I love the vtwin sound they make. Poor mans ducati... lol

Friday night I might be out... Saturday Im pretty free!
as for the SV, a lot of older riders recommended it for a first bike.. not too big not too small.. a second hand one.. I guess it comes down to pricing when I actually go buy it.. dont wanna spend more than 2000-3000..
this is the baby I want eventually.. I might get something like this over a sports bike.. course, not ducatti

well... i was thinking saturday evening/night was better. we can go eat and then just chill out somewhere and shoot ther sh*ts like usual. if nel can make it and bring the camera, we can take some new pics. i prefer saturday because no work during the day. friday night is going to be tougher just because ppl work and go to school and stuff... come one guys, let's decide this thing.
what about halfrice, waz, zen, peter, eric, and the rest of the guys? which day is better for them? havn't seen the other guys for a while now. getting kinda bored...
hey might get a different set of wheels... i donno what to do with the gold meisters. i'm just still very up int he air about this. i guess i'm just getting bored and didn;t do anything to the car for a while now. hahahaa.

i say kawasaki ninja 250 is still a better choice, just because it's lighter and easier to handle than the sv650. the sv is good because it gives you a more upright seating position and not as aggressive as a sportbike, but it is still quite a bit heavier and probably harder to handle than a 250 for a newbie rider.
the harley fatboy is nice. my homie has one, all tricked out and lowered, and it's the older 90's model. definitly an awsome bike. but always in the shop. harley's are nice, but not reliable when they get a few years on them. i love my dad's kawasaki vulcan 900 custom in blue. beautiful bike. he downed it in the middle of a turn, fukking gravel and sand, i'm trying to fix it for him at the moment.
ducati's are nice. i would love to have one, but maintenance costs are just way too much. if you can afford it, it's a very nice bike. but from what i've seen... 90% of the ducati owners ride them like a big puss... afraid of getting dirt on the bike or dropping it. hahaha, useless.

Well lets plan what night we'll chill so i can come out that day. Id be down for ramen or chicken+ribs.
There used to be some used 696 monsters on craigslist for about 7k, but they all disappeared... There are alot of older monsters available though. If someone buys the 250, i'll probably spend a little more and pick up a used SV650. But i woudlnt mind just keeping the 250 either.

i seen guys at the track ripping it up on ducati monsters... the liter bikes, not the 600 cc ones. they pretty fast. in the right hands, they can be faster than some newer guys on a crotch rocket.
I was at Irvine Spectrum a few weeks ago to watch movie and when I came out, I saw a bike shattered into pieces, and the rear of the Benz was barely bent. There was a guy on the ground and white cloth covered on top of him. I guess he was the motorcycle driver, pronounced dead at the scene. A friend of mine was in a coma as well after getting into an accident and now his legs are f*cked. Makes me wanna think twice hmmmmm
think twice?? dood you were the one that brought this up? hahaha.
seriously, it is dangerous riding in LA traffic. i would not commute on my bike. most of the time, it's not your fault, it's the other person's. why leave your life/fate in other ppl's hands. i just ride on the weekends or on the track for fun. always alert and be aware of what's around you. i have had friend that gotten into accidents. but all were not serious. not hurt but bikes were damaged. lucky them *knock on wood*.
just know your limits at all times. just know that even tho you want to pass every motherf*cker on the road when your are riding, it doesn't happen. there's always someone faster than you. just remember that. and on the canyons and track, n o point in beating the pants off everyone, there's no money, trophy, or hoes at the end of the day. just have fun.
sometimes it really isn't your fault. but most of the time, it's always some fukking squid doing stuupid *** shiet, crach and get hurt or die. idiots. i hate thos ppl, show offs, and they don't wear the proper gear when they want to push it. and they push it at the wrong times/location.
