why pay private tuition for a university that does not carry the prestige? I go to a "prestigious" school in Socal (USC) and even though I made enough memories to be able to write a book, I still feel that the $51,000/year my family had to pay for tuition, fraternity, books, food, and housing is too much..I'm not complaining because I don't have to pay for it, so unless you are getting a full scholarship or have parents who are willing to finance your education, stay in public school.. ESPECIALLY since California's UC system is very strong and competitive.

If you're not an international student, definitely go to UCLA, Berkeley, UCI, or UCSD because you will save yourself a lot of money and also have a great time. Well.. not as much of a great time at Berkeley..
