Help, Lost Dog! (Encinitas Area)
*****Update*****
We found her last night , she had wandered into someone's backyard about a 1/2 mile where we had initially lost sight of her (across the 5 overpass heading east), needless to say it's been a crazy 6 days and big thanks to all the Z Members who passed on the word about her.

Ok my fellow Z brethren,
My roomates dog is lost and we now believe that someone could have possibly keept her for themselves (pics below & you can see why)...
Her name is SHASTA:
She is a 1 year old, Female, Bernese Mountain Dog
She is what is known as Tri-Color (Black Body, Brown Legs, White chest and facial area)
She is approximately 75-80 pounds
She does not have her tags or collar on her (she broke this off when she ran)
She is extremely friendly and well socialized with humans and animals, but may be frightened right now
She went missing on 3-25-09 at approximately 8:00pm (We have contacted every possibly shelter, vet, etc in SD county and even beyond that), She was last seen in Encinitas, at the corner of Leucadia Avenue and the 101 freeway, she was heading south bound and west on the the 101.
As of 3/29, She had also been recently sighted near the Carslbad Camp Ground Beach and Beaches to the South of that!
Reward Available.
Please contact Kristen @ 858-414-7349 with any info
or myself, Will @ 661 400 2490 (I know, I have a 661 ghetto @ss number in San Diego and I should change it...)

Ok, we were out till late last night and nothing, again... 1 out of every four or five people we spoke to already knew about her from the flyers/posters/etc...
No sightings since early Sunday morning, so we really think someone has her in their backyard/house... I guess the next step is to stroll thru the neighborhoods again and call her name while looking over the fence or listening for some sort of response, again...
This sucks.

Don't give up man! She can't be far.
This should be a reminder to everyone to keep a secure tag on their dogs. Even if someone intended to keep your dog, that tag could be the last reminder of the right thing to do.
My little guy ran off once, no tag after a bath, but luckily the whole neighborhood knew to whom he belongs to.

Yeah in this case, she broke out of her collar, definitely going to get a harness on her when we find her, that way she'll always have her collar & tags...

Good luck man, that is a beautiful dog and I hope your able to find her. I know the feeling and its not pleasant. After I lost my Boxer, I will always get my pets chipped. Also thought about that GPS capable chip.
Anyway, Good luck, hope she turns up and all is well.

Yeah, I was thinking about the GPS chip, if it's reasonable to do that is (don't know the exact details on it). First we have to find her.
Again, thanks guys and keep your eyes peeled if you're in the area.

I knew she wouldn't be too far. Time for the tag and chip. Good luck.
