Default Coast to Coast road trip

Hey guys! Me and a couple of friends are planning to hit the east coast via land this summer. Any tips and suggestions for a 3000mile trip newbie?

One question I wanna throw out is...How and what is a good strategy in renting a vehicle?

We plan to hit states and cities we know we have a place to stay so lodging isn't the biggest issue.

The route we plan to take is the typical LA - NY.

Thanks!

My recommendations are
1. Cruise control is your new bff
2. Take a lot of Red Bull, water, and snacks
3. Since you got three people make a driving schedule
4. Plan out where you want to stop and when
5. Make sure you don't hit rush hour on highways in the larger cities

That's all I can say off the top of my head.
Also if you have the guts you can do that drive in about 3 days.
If you got any more ?'s u got my #

Thanks Andrew!

Yeah, we really wanna make this a leisure trip. Take our time and see the sights but sticking to one route.

Hopefully do the trip one way and fly back. So renting a car is our 1st choice.

As for renting a car, just go to enterprise or whatever and tell them you want unlimited miles. You can drive rentals from state to state, you just cant leave the US (Canada or Mexico) without special insurance.

best thing ever in long trips just plan where you start and where you and make up the middle as you go, like dont be **** bout deadlines if you have time take the smaller roads just go the long way have a good time... and always bring a gps if you are lost in Arkansas i bet it can get you out of there... lol
