Default Does anyone know any SECLUDED camping spots around the socal area?

It's my friends bachelor party on Saturday and at first we planned on going to Big Bear and renting a cabin for the night, but too many cheapa$$es don't want to pitch in $50, so that idea went out the window. Now were thinking of just taking some tents and camping. So does anyone know any secluded camp spots around the socal area? Maybe 2-3 hours max out of OC?

If it was my bachelor party, I'd go to Vegas or somewhere really nice. But some of the people going with us are really stingy

I am not from your area bud, but if you want a secluded camping spot, there's one way to do it:

pick a 4 or 5 star difficulty hike that goes way up in elevation in short bursts. these are rarely taken on by folks. find a suitable spot partially up the trail and throw down your set up. you will be about as alone as I can think of. find a hard to reach spot.

this is how we do it. last time we went camping we did not see a single other person on the trail. good times were had by all.

Sweet, I'll look into that. Thanks!

Any more input?

no problem, your local REI should have a cheap trailhead guide for your area if you need something to pull info from.

My cheap friends are also very lazy. Actually, they are more lazy than they are cheap. Just the rumor of doing a backpacking trip to save money would have them begging for a hotel room.

Off topic, but this new trend in bachelor parties is really funny. I used to think it was Vegas or Atlantic City by dfault. Now, all I hear about is guys doing Big Bear, or just a weekend with the guys around town doing some bike riding, golf, etc. I too am a best man and am organizing a bachelor party in Palm Springs. Not my style at all, but hey, if thats what the man wants, thats what he'll get.

Since everyone was too cheap to get a cabin in Big Bear, we ended up just doing a BBQ at the beach.

let me know where you pick so I can later tell the authorities where all the dead hooker bodies are buried.

The party was yesterday, so they might have found the bodies already
