Cheston, any idea if motorcycle helmets that are DOT and SNELL approved will be ok to use at the track day?

most helmets for track days must be SA rated.

as long as the helmet is SA2000 or better.. you should be ok.. i've only seen a handful of Moto helmets that are SA rated tho-...

updates:
we have a couple of options..

1. We can either absorb this into the SpeedTrialUSA,
Oct 3rd Saturday event, $150 ~ Buttonwillow

http://www.speedtrialusa.com/index1.html

2. SpeedVentures
Sept 26th Saturday Buttonwillow event
$150
http://www.speedventures.com/events/...il.aspx?id=234

or do our own private thing.. ..

comments? thoughts?

if private thing is not much more than the two options you gave cheston, i would opt for the private thing. just because everyone will be from this forum and give a good opportunity to meet other ppl that we seen on here.

and if they mess around... let the ban hammer fall where it may... use the big ban hammer. hahahaa jk.

cheston, i see both options are at buttonwillow... if there a chance to have something set up a little closer to home?

Private is better...but i'll go either way...

Who know's...if it goes well we should make it into an annual event...I'm getting bored with going to the Z nationals just to autocross...

If we do our own I think it would be more expensive. Correct me if I am wrong on that. and I would suggest maybe we all can pitch in for food? Perhaps a mini bbq or a mini meet. Just throwing out random ideas.

BTW any chances for Streets of Willow?

What do you consider closer to home since I am not familiar where you are located

BBQ pitch in would be a good idea to save $$...and it would be cheaper to go via speedventures and stuff and they run a good ship, but i think it would be cool to do just an all Z and G thingy, so we can just focus on our cars...

And it would be nice to go to Streets of Willow since its closer that Buttonwillow, but like I said I'll go either way...

As for RRmikey, he probably prefers Cali Speedway, but we'll see how much that costs...

On Sep 26th, there will be a s2k challege, so there are a lot of people and traffic for sure. My vote goes for private thing.
