Unhappy NOT AGAiN ...

I bought my vq35de 350z in 2006, and had the oil consumption problem, ended up getting a new engine, after that it started consuming oil again the second time around. One day my engine blows, same problem, got another engine but the long block.

Now I recently I have been checking my oil and start to notice the oil level is decreasing. And just last weekend, I check my dipstick and I was 1-1.5 quarts low ... WTF how many times does this **** going to continue to happen..

i go back in the next 500 miles to get it checked out then another 500 to see where the oil is at. If it is consuming oil, I am going to have to get another damn engine again. fu,cckkk that ! any ideas or inputs as to what I should do? i rarely drive my Z counting it is a 06 and has 35,000 on chassis and 11,000 on new engine.

lemon much, i think soooo

it's either bad luck or something your doing.(not to say it's something your doing) but i know a few guys with 06's and they burn oil, but it's manageable. If this is your 3rd motor...lets hope you have better luck i guess?

'06? DE? Did not make. The '06 is rev-up, which had the oil consumption issues. I've seen multiple threads about guys having problems with multiple engines.

Sounds like my problem. I got my motor replaced and its still consuming oil. Except I ran out of warranty just coincidentally after getting the the motor replaced. I got

The *** service advisor who first took my case in ran oil consumption tests but did not log it. I didnt find out til afterwards and had to talk to the manager directly at West Covina to speed up the process of getting my engine replaced. He did help out in a timely manner but now my warranty is out haha.

Sorry to hear mad . I'm currently on my 2nd motor due to oil consumption. My first one burned oil like crazy, the new one burns about a quart every 3-4,000 miles.

I am on the same motor with full rebuild due to oil consumption. Sadly after the build it went from burning a qt every 1k miles or so to burning a qt every 200 miles. Looks like Im getting them to do it all over again.

lol the rev-up motor is still a VQ35DE model number. Only the 07+ models were the VQ35HR for Hi-Rev. But before then they were the same. Just Rev-Up was a name given for the motor. But not a production code number. And on my 06 I had the motor replaced also.

If you build the motor yourself you can prevent most of the consumption. But honestly its not worth the money unless you are planning a turbo build. But the oil ring on the piston just does a **** poor job and the oil is just burnt away.
