i personally think the street class tires should be 200+

like Boneout JZA80 said alot of Z's in socal are not really set up for the track(stupid people like me with a supercharger runnin (used)falken fk452 on the track)(300 treadwear ftw)

by having the street class at 200+ treadwear i think it opens up a larger scope of "beginner and new drivers" to easily participate with their "street cars"

and finally even though i am supercharged i think i belong in the street class cuz my tires suck hahahahhaha

Why should the street tire class, if set at 200, exclude cars that are on the stock 140TWR tire?

Also - honest question and not trying to bust your ***** - why spend all that money to supercharge a car, yet spend a few hundred bucks by buying crapcan tires? I'll take 270 NArwhp on NT01s, R888s, RA1s, etc. (~100TWR), even some of the better 200TWR tires over an F/I car on sucktastic Nankang or Nexen tires anyday. I suppose we may have different driving styles though.

I totally understand and did not mean to imply that everyone did. My suggestion for the 140 was so that guys still on OEM Bridgestones or similar could be in the street tire class. My question about spending money on upgrades except for tires was honest. I just hate lousy tires. Even my wife's Z has Pole Positions on it!

Scott carries NT01's in his trunk as spares.

Guys, the point of the shootout is for a fun competition and to get all of you out there to participate in a Z/G organized event.

i was thinkin of all the guys in socal drivin on toyo t1r and falken fk452 that have never been to the track

both these tires are 220+ treadwear... if all these people came to the track we could have a "350z track day" hahahaha

Sounds like it'll be a lot of fun. Don't think I will be able to make it to the first event but hopefully I can attend a couple other rounds and join in on the fun with you guys.

T1R's for the win! Those tires are very quick for the class it's in.

Street class tires, easy solution 140 treadwear for 245's and smaller (basically OEM size) then 200 treadwear for anything wider. That should keep it semi even for people on stock width vs people with wide rubber.
